Why Volunteer
There are more than 5000 homeless children in Michigan alone. They live on the streets, in abandoned homes, etc.. These children suffer every day. The majority of children living on the streets will be incarcerated, turn to prostitution and/or drugs, alcohol, and many will die.
Please volunteer and help us save the children! Volunteer so you, too, can make a difference in a child’s future, which inevitably will change yours for the better.

About the Covenant House
Covenant House Michigan (CHM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides hope to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth ages 13-22. We provide shelter, educational and vocational programs, as well as other support services, to help overcome hurdles such as homelessness, unemployment, inadequate education, violence, drugs and gangs. Our goal is to redirect them onto a path toward meaningful and successful adulthood.
CHM has come to be known by Detroit area young people as a place they can go to build a better future and be treated with respect and unconditional love. Over 35,069 youth have been served by CHM since its inception in September, 1997.
Our Kids Need Your Support
Covenant House Michigan, (CHM) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that provides hope to homeless, runaway and at risk youth ages 13-22. Kids who come to our doors have been abused and neglected, have slept on friends’ couches or in abandoned buildings. These kids have been forgotten by those who are supposed to care about them the most.
When they come through our gates, they become part of our family. Our staff, volunteers and donors carry out our mission based on faith and the belief that all of God’s children deserve unconditional love, respect and hope.
Over 37,000 youth have been served by CHM since its inception in September 1997.
How to help
Like the saying goes: “It takes a village to raise a child.” Sadly, thousands of kids throughout Michigan do not have family or support systems to help them along the way.
When kids come to Covenant House seeking help, our staff becomes part of their family, offering support and unconditional love kids need to be happy as they continue their journeys toward positive and productive lives.
Our staff cannot do this alone, however. Hundreds of volunteers and donors are an extension of the Covenant House family. People just like you give of their hearts, time, and financial resources to make sure our kids get the love and support they deserve. Please join us on this mission of hope.
